Tocantins 247 – During a breakfast meeting with journalists this Wednesday, the 19th, the acting governor of Tocantins, Sandoval Cardoso (SDD), announced that the state government will deliver 147 ambulances to all 139 municipalities of Tocantins and some state hospitals. According to the acting governor, the delivery will be made by region of the state. "We will make deliveries in the Augustinópolis and Araguatins region, another in the Araguaína, Guaraí, Gurupi, and Dianópolis region, and the last in Palmas," he stated.

Sandoval Cardoso assured that the first 25 ambulances acquired by the government have already arrived and will be delivered this Friday, the 21st, to the municipalities that make up the Bico do Papagaio region. "They will be delivered in Araguatins to all the surrounding municipalities of Bico do Papagaio," he stated.

In addition to delivering the ambulances, the acting governor listed some actions he will develop while Governor Siqueira Campos (PSDB) is on vacation and Vice-Governor João Oliveira (DEM) is on an official state mission in countries in the Middle East and Asia. The main one is monitoring the works being carried out by the government.

“During conversations I've already had with the secretaries, we learned about many projects that are underway. I want to demonstrate the government's commitment to what was planned and what is being done. The government is restoring 60% of the state highway network, and we will inspect where this work has already begun, in addition to the agreements signed with the municipalities,” he listed.

Expired medications. Sandoval Cardoso was questioned about the measures the state government is taking regarding the waste and expiration of medications in the regulatory stock of the Health Secretariat, as uncovered by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office and the State Public Defender's Office. The acting governor said he will not shirk his responsibility.

“We visited the HGP, and we are not shirking responsibility for the difficulties. The governor places all the responsibility on me to continue his work. Whatever problems arise, we will always be discussing them with the technical team and also in dialogue with the governor, if necessary. We have no difficulty discussing the state's problems,” he stated.
