Bahia 247 - Governor Rui Costa delivered this Wednesday morning (27), in Porto Seguro, 1.500 units of the Vila Parracho Residential Complex (the largest project of the program with government participation ever delivered in the city). More than 6 people benefited from the properties, which cost a total of R$ 90 million.
For Rui, the program goes beyond facilitating homeownership and has already changed the reality for thousands of people in Bahia. "This is a social program that gives dignity and security to families. Fathers and mothers now have a home where they can raise their children. Never in the history of Bahia have so many houses been built for people to live in. I know the emotion you feel," said the governor.
Housekeeper Andreia Alves, 30, a mother of four, received the keys to her first home and will no longer live in a small property borrowed from relatives. "Where I lived wasn't a good environment to raise my children. When I found out I got the house, I couldn't believe it. It's a feeling of victory. This program is one of the best projects the government can do to benefit those most in need," said the resident.
The property delivered to Andreia, which follows the same pattern as all the others, has two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a service area, with ceramic tile flooring throughout. The complex is equipped with complete infrastructure, paving, water supply, sewage system, drainage, electricity, and access to public transportation.
Deliveries
With this Wednesday's inauguration, the Bahia state government has now delivered a total of 3.950 units of the "Minha Casa, Minha Vida" (My House, My Life) program in Porto Seguro, guaranteeing housing for 16 low-income people. More than R$ 200 million has been invested in the seven residential developments built in the southern Bahia municipality.
Throughout Bahia, more than 115 housing units have already been delivered since the program was launched in 2009, benefiting more than 460 people. In 2015 alone, out of a total of 22.096 housing units completed under the Minha Casa, Minha Vida Over 50 program (for municipalities with more than 50 inhabitants, such as Porto Seguro), 16.982 units have already been delivered in 58 cities.
