Rui: 'Carnival without ropes' reduces violence
Following the opening of the 'Carnival without Ropes' program, on Thursday night (23), in Campo Grande, Governor Rui Costa said the party should be for everyone; "I want the other days of Carnival to be a reproduction of what the Leo Santana show was like. This beautiful party, with the crowd following and having fun. You can see that when there are no ropes, you integrate those on the sidewalk with the public on the asphalt and reduce friction and, consequently, the number of incidents. The State Government is investing to democratize the Carnival of Bahia," said Rui.
Bahia 247 - A hit in the Bahian summer, singer Leo Santana opened the Carnival without ropes on the Osmar circuit, on Thursday night (23). The artist entertained the crowd with the main hits from his repertoire, such as the song 'Santinha'. Always lively and "free from ropes", the singer highlighted what he called the evolution of the party in Bahia.
"It's important to bring people together and provide the freedom to have fun without division. I'm flattered. I'm grateful to be part of a more democratic Carnival like this. I love this diversity," emphasized "the giant," as he is nicknamed. Leo Santana was one of the hundred acts hired by the State Government to guarantee a free and democratic Carnival for the population.
According to Governor Rui Costa, who watched the entire celebration from the balcony of the government's VIP box at Campo Grande, the party should be for everyone.
"I want the other days of Carnival to be a reproduction of what Leo Santana's show was like. This beautiful celebration, with the crowd joining in and having fun. You can see that when there are no ropes, you integrate those on the sidewalk with the public on the asphalt, reducing friction and consequently the number of incidents. The State Government is investing to democratize Carnival in Bahia," says the governor.
