Rogério believes in a turnaround: "the population understood our proposal"
PT (Workers' Party) Senate candidate Rogério Carvalho states that he is confident of victory on October 5th; “We are on the turning point. The population understood our proposal, which is to occupy this seat, work hard on developing new projects, bringing resources to the municipalities and the state, participating in Senate debates and not just marking our presence without effectively contributing to improvements for the people of Sergipe and Brazil,” he said.
Valter Lima, from Sergipe 247 - PT Senate candidate Rogério Carvalho says he is confident of victory on October 5th. He is competing for a seat against Senator Maria do Carmo (DEM), who is seeking re-election. In an interview with Sergipe 247, he says he believes in a turnaround and criticizes Mayor João Alves Filho's (DEM) ten-day leave of absence from the municipal administration to dedicate himself to his wife's campaign.
“We are at a turning point. The population understood our proposal, which is to occupy this seat, work hard on developing new projects, bringing resources to the municipalities and the state, participating in Senate debates and not just marking our presence without effectively contributing to improvements for the people of Sergipe and Brazil,” he said.
Regarding the leave of absence of the mayor of Aracaju, Rogério believes that João “is making a serious mistake in abandoning a city that is facing many health problems and urban mobility issues, with the city full of potholes.” “Leaving the mayor's office at this moment demonstrates total disregard for the people of Aracaju and an attachment to power,” he criticizes.
Rogério also says that the mayor "invents lies" about him. "He goes to great lengths to invent lies about me in order to wear me down. Lies that he had already told before and that I sued him for defamation and won the case. It's a regrettable attitude," he says.
For the final week of the campaign, the candidate says he will "continue working hard, visiting people, making face-to-face interactions, convincing people, seeking out undecided voters, and without stopping." "We are in the streets, with our activists, throughout the state," he emphasizes. The Workers' Party candidate also says he has had "the full support of allies who believe in the project."
