RS247 – The occupation of bus drivers and conductors at the Bus Drivers' Union ended in conflict on Wednesday morning (7). According to the Military Brigade (BM), there were reports of gunfire, which left at least three people injured. The category demands a new election to change the current leadership of the union and asks for the re-hiring of two bus drivers, who, according to the protesters, were fired for having participated in other protests.

The fight reportedly began around 10 a.m., and according to the Military Police, the confrontation involved approximately 80 people. Twenty police officers from the 9th Military Police Battalion (BPM) cordoned off the area of ​​the conflict to conduct an investigation and control the situation. Furthermore, witnesses reported to the Military Police that there was an exchange of punches and kicks.

"There are reports of gunfire and property damage inside the union building. When we arrived, there were still people pushing each other, but now we will file a report for property damage and bodily injury," stated Major Luís Ulisses Rodrigues Nunes of the 9th BPM, according to the newspaper Zero Hora.

According to the union president, Júlio Gamaliel, the organization itself reported that a large part of the building was vandalized. In turn, Igor Ponzetcchi, a member of the Força Sindical union, said that computers were broken, as well as equipment from the union's clinic.
