Robinson Almeida: Bahia's PMDB crumbles and ACM Neto is in a bind.
Despite his attempts to hide it, the mayor of Salvador, ACM Neto, is strongly linked to Geddel Vieira and the PMDB party in Bahia; with Geddel's arrest and the removal of his advisor Gustavo Ferraz due to Operation Cui Bono, ACM Neto is in a bind, explains federal deputy Robinson Almeida (PT-BA): if the mayor decides to run for governor in 2018, he will hand over the Salvador mayoralty to the PMDB, from whom he is precisely trying to distance himself.
Bahia 247 - On his Facebook page, federal deputy Robinson Almeida (PT-BA) commented on the situation of the PMDB party in the state after the arrest of Geddel Vieira Lima, former minister under Michel Temer, who was detained after the Federal Police found R$ 51 million in his apartment in Salvador. "After the arrest of Geddel Vieira Lima, the PMDB in Bahia crumbled. ACM Neto was also severely affected by the arrest of his advisor Gustavo Ferraz, director of Codesal in the Salvador city hall. As if the threat of Geddel's plea bargain wasn't enough, Neto is now in a tight spot," Almeida stated.
According to the PT (Workers' Party) congressman, "with the R$ 51 million scandal, Neto is seeking distance from Geddel." Almeida stated that ACM Neto will make clear what he's trying to hide: "Since Bruno Reis, ACM Neto's vice-mayor, is affiliated with the PMDB, if the DEM (Democrats) mayor runs for governor in 2018, Geddel's PMDB will be calling the shots in Salvador's city hall for two years and nine months." "As the popular saying goes: Neto, if he runs, the beast catches him; if he stays, the beast eats him. The beast is Geddel. For Odebrecht, he's 'Alligator Mouth'," Almeida concluded.
