Riquelme agrees to return to Boca Juniors.

BUENOS AIRES, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Midfielder Juan Román Riquelme agreed to return to Boca Juniors on Friday, president Daniel Angelici announced, despite the player having stated many times over the past seven months that he would no longer play for the popular Argentine football club.

Riquelme, 34, left the team after their defeat in the Copa Libertadores final against Corinthians last July.

"After two and a half hours with Riquelme, the management unanimously decided that, considering the player's desire to return to training with the squad, he will be part of the professional squad starting Monday," said Angelici.

Earlier this year, Riquelme, who had been in negotiations with Palmeiras, reiterated that he would never play for Boca again, having left after the Libertadores Cup because he had "nothing more to give to the club".
