Rio 2016: Airfare prices drop 35% for host city.
With the event arriving in Rio, the average price of airline tickets decreases; there are still tickets available for the competition.
ViajaNet - With just a few days to go before the start of the Olympic Games, airfares to Rio de Janeiro are falling, attracting those who haven't planned ahead. Research by the online travel agency ViajaNet shows that the average ticket price has dropped 35% compared to figures from 50 days ago.
According to Gustavo Mariotto, Marketing Manager at ViajaNet, this is an opportunity for those who haven't yet decided. "Even with the high demand at the moment, it's still possible to find discounted tickets."
The average airfare – according to research by ViajaNet – was R$ 527 and is now R$ 346, which shows a unique advantage, "especially since there are still tickets available to watch some events, even though there are only a few days left before the event," concludes Mariotto.
