Reservoirs that supply Greater São Paulo are experiencing increased levels.
According to Sabesp, the Cantareira System, the main water source supplying the region, increased from 14,3% to 14,5%; the Alto Tietê System rose by 0,4 percentage points and is operating at 21% of its capacity; the Guarapiranga System, which supplies the southern zone of São Paulo, rose from 72,8% to 73,8%, with 19,8 millimeters of rain in the reservoir; the Alto Cotia System is at 54,2% of its total capacity, with an increase of 0,6 percentage points from yesterday to today; the level of the Rio Grande System rose from 95,1% to 96,1%, and the Rio Claro System increased by 0,2 percentage points and is operating at 40,2% of its capacity.
Brazil Agency - The reservoirs of the six systems that supply Greater São Paulo registered an increase in levels today (14). According to the São Paulo State Basic Sanitation Company (Sabesp), the Cantareira System, the main water source that supplies the region, increased from 14,3% to 14,5%.
The index takes into account the increased capacity provided by the use of the dead volume. Considering only the usable volume, the reservoirs are operating at 8,2% of their capacity. So far, the accumulated rainfall for the month totals 138,6 millimeters, 77,8% of the historical average in the Cantareira region.
The Alto Tietê System saw a 0,4 percentage point increase and is operating at 21% of its capacity. The reservoirs supply nine cities, in addition to the eastern zone of São Paulo.
The Guarapiranga System, which supplies the southern zone of São Paulo, rose from 72,8% to 73,8%, with 19,8 millimeters of rain in the reservoir.
The Alto Cotia System is at 54,2% of its total capacity, an increase of 0,6 percentage points from yesterday to today. These reservoirs supply water to the cities of Cotia, Embu, Itapecerica da Serra, Embu-Guaçu, and Vargem Grande.
The level of the Rio Grande System rose from 95,1% to 96,1%. The reservoirs guarantee water for Diadema, São Bernardo do Campo, and part of Santo André.
Responsible for supplying part of the eastern zone of the capital and the municipalities of Ribeirão Pires, Mauá and Santo André, the Rio Claro System saw an increase of 0,2 percentage points and is operating at 40,2% of its capacity.
