Pernambuco 247 - TV Asa Branca, an affiliate of Rede Globo in Carauru, in the Agreste region of the state, was forced to broadcast live a protest by a group of demonstrators from the Popular Youth Uprising against the interim government of Michel Temer and against Globo itself.
The incident occurred during the ABTV 2nd Edition news program, during a live report by reporter Anderson Melo about the Olympic torch relay passing through the city. Holding signs with slogans such as "Out with Temer" and "Globo Coup Plotters," the protesters positioned themselves behind the reporter the entire time. The cameraman repeatedly tried to avoid focusing on the protesters, but the group kept returning to their positions in front of the camera.
