Repairs to the Gil Nogueira viaduct begin this Friday.

Work to correct an unevenness in the Gil Nogueira viaduct began this Friday morning; the problem was detected by the Superintendency for the Development of the Capital (Sudecap) at the end of 2014; this is the third viaduct with structural problems out of the seven built on Avenida Pedro I for the BRT/Move; the works were the responsibility of two companies - Cowan and Consol; Mayor Marcio Lacerda said he is awaiting the results of the expert analysis to identify the true culprit for the failure: "The company that built it said there was a problem. The company that executed it said there was a design problem. The expert analysis that will be done will determine this."

Minas 247 -  Repair work on the Gil Nogueira viaduct, on Avenida Pedro I, began this Friday morning. The work aims to correct a 2,5-centimeter unevenness in the upper part of the overpass. This problem was detected during an inspection by the Superintendency for the Development of the Capital (Sudecap) at the end of 2014.

The city hall of Belo Horizonte (PBH) admitted to a flaw in the construction of the overpass. Mayor Márcio Lacerda stated that he hopes the expert analysis will determine who is truly at fault: "The company that built it said there was a problem. The company that executed the work said there was a design problem. The expert analysis that will be carried out will determine this." The Gil Nogueira overpass is the third of seven built for the BRT/Move system on Pedro I Avenue that presents structural problems.
