Ministerial reshuffle during the Bonfim Washing Festival
Marta Suplicy participated in the Bonfim Washing ceremony this Thursday and made clear her desire to remain in the Esplanade of Ministries; "I am very involved with all the cultural processes of the country. We managed to assemble a fantastic team with very good results. So I hope to remain in this way," former Minister of Cities, the vice-president of the PP, Mário Negromonte, also expressed eagerness for the reform; "In Lula's government, we had a smaller caucus and more positions, greater participation in the government. We want to increase this space and gain other ministries."
Bahia 247 - In Salvador since this Thursday (16) fulfilling an official agenda, the Minister of Culture, Marta Suplicy, participated this morning in the gathering for the walk towards Colina Sagrada for the traditional washing of the steps of the Church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim.
The minister did not walk the eight-kilometer route because Governor Jaques Wagner (PT) has a fracture in one of his feet and was unable to walk. The two only participated in the opening of the festival at the Church of Conceição da Praia and then proceeded to Bonfim in an official car.
Marta Suplicy preferred not to speculate about President Dilma Rousseff's cabinet reshuffle, but made it clear that she wants to remain in the Esplanade of Ministries.
"I am very involved with all the cultural processes in the country. We managed to assemble a fantastic team with very good results, so I hope to maintain this approach," said the PT minister in an interview with the Bahia Notícias website.
Former Minister of Cities, the national vice-president of the PP and president of the party in Bahia, Congressman Mário Negromonte, also expressed anxiety about the new arrangement that President Dilma will make and said that the PP hopes to gain "more space" in the government.
A progressive leader compared the "strength" of President Dilma's ruling party to that of former President Lula's administration.
"During Lula's government, we had a smaller parliamentary group but more positions and greater participation in the government. We want to increase that representation and gain more ministries."
