Tocantins 247 - The appeal requesting the annulment of the diplomas of Governor Marcelo Miranda (PMDB) and Vice-Governor Cláudia Lelis (PV), which was scheduled to be judged this Thursday (23) at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), should be judged on the 7th. The PMDB's lawyer, Solano Donato, would not be judged this Thursday, "because the confirmation must be published two days in advance". Donato believes that it should only be judged after Carnival".

"He could enter on March 2nd or March 7th. Personally, I believe he'll enter on the 7th, since the 2nd is a Thursday, after a holiday. As it's a large-scale process, I believe he should only enter on the 7th," said Donato, adding that "it's not official, but rather a personal prediction," he told T1 Notícias.

The electoral process refers to accusations of illegal fundraising for the electoral campaign, the practice of undeclared campaign contributions, and abuse of economic power allegedly committed by Marcelo and Cláudia in the 2014 elections. At the time, an airplane owned by Ronaldo Japiassú was seized in Piracanjuba (GO), which was allegedly being used by the PMDB campaign to transport Lucas Marinho Araújo and Douglas Schimitt with R$ 500,000 in cash and campaign leaflets for the then-candidate for governor.

Last week, the appeal was reviewed by TSE Minister Luciana Lóssio, who issued a ruling on the 15th, requesting that the case be included on the agenda for judgment.

In 2015, the Regional Electoral Court of Tocantins denied the request for disqualification by a vote of three to two.

The lawsuit seeking Miranda's removal from office was filed by the coalition "The Change We See," led by former governor Sandoval Cardoso (SDD), and the Electoral Public Prosecutor's Office.
