Tax authorities release the largest tax refund in history.

In total, R$ 2,6 billion will be returned, relating to the last four years.

Brasilia - The Federal Revenue Service will release tomorrow (10), at 9 am, the consultation for the second batch of Individual Income Tax refunds for 2012. Refunds from declarations that were in the fine mesh relating to the years 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008 will also be released for consultation.

The total value of the refunds reaches R$ 2,6 billion and is the largest multi-year batch ever released by the Federal Revenue Service. The money, however, will only be in the bank on the 16th of next month.

All taxpayers over 60 years of age, who are beneficiaries of the Senior Citizen Statute, will have their refunds released, provided they have not been flagged for review by the tax authorities. The tax office also informed that the batch includes taxpayers who submitted their tax returns during March 2012 without irregularities. 

For the 2012 tax year, refunds will be credited to a total of 2.433.190 taxpayers, adjusted by 2,38%. For the 2011 tax year, refunds will be credited to a total of 15.970 taxpayers with an adjustment of 13,13%. From the 2010 batch, there are 7.744 taxpayers, and the adjustment is 23,28%.

From the 2009 batch, refunds will be credited to a total of 5.613 taxpayers with an adjustment of 31,74%, and from the 2008 batch, refunds will be credited to a total of 2.570 taxpayers, with an adjustment of 43,81%.
