(Reuters)- Claro, the telecommunications operator of the Mexican group América Móvil, reported on Tuesday that it had net revenue of 8,93 billion reais in the second quarter, representing an increase of 0,8 percent compared to the previous quarter.
The company did not disclose a comparison with the same period last year, nor whether it had a profit or loss from April to June.
Hours earlier, América Móvil, the largest telecommunications operator in Latin America by number of subscribers, had announced that its second-quarter profit fell 94,3 percent compared to the same period in 2017. [nE5N1OT01G]
Claro reported that its service revenue increased 0,5 percent from the first to the second quarter, with a 1,1 percent increase in mobile service revenue and a 0,3 percent increase in fixed-line services.
Revenue from postpaid services grew 3 percent, while revenue from fixed broadband grew 4,5 percent.
Claro's EBITDA totaled R$2,97 billion in the second quarter, a 1,6 percent increase sequentially. The EBITDA margin increased by 0,3 percentage points to 33,3 percent.
