FIFA Ranking: Brazil falls to its worst position in the last 18 years.

The team managed by Mano Menezes occupies the 7th position, one place lower than last month's ranking.

247 – The Brazilian national team has fallen again in the official FIFA ranking. In a list released this Wednesday, the 21st, the team led by Mano Menezes appears in seventh place, one position lower than last month. This is the worst position in the last 18 years. Only in August 1993, when the list was created, did Brazil occupy such a poor position.

Recent results weigh heavily on the list, even with the 0-0 draw against Argentina in the team's last match. The points added to the ranking highlight Brazil's poor performance in the 2010 World Cup and 2011 Copa América, as well as its losses against major national teams in official friendlies. The five-time champion had already fallen from fourth to sixth place in the Federation's previous ranking.

Current world champions Spain lead the ranking with 1.605 points after winning their last two matches. Second-placed Netherlands have 1.571 points, also with victories in their last games. Germany remains in third place, and Uruguay now occupies fourth, its best ranking in the country's history. England is the biggest drop on the list, from fourth to eighth place. Portugal and Italy are fifth and sixth respectively. Argentina's poor form only earned them tenth place. The team that showed the greatest improvement in the FIFA ranking was Portugal, which jumped from eighth to fifth position. England, however, fell from fourth to eighth place.
