PV holds seminar and discusses environmental actions.

From R2, via Piauí Today - The drought, river pollution, wildfires and other environmental problems in the State were the themes of the Leadership Training Seminar in the Area of ​​Environmental Policy, held by the Herbert Daniel Green Foundation, this Friday (20), in Teresina. The event brought together leaders of the Green Party from the capital and the interior.

Public health physician Eduardo Jorge, a candidate for president of the Republic in the 2014 elections, was one of the speakers at the event. With the theme entitled "The role of the Greens in the current political scenario and the environment, citizenship and sustainable development," he spoke about the need for effective public policies regarding environmental preservation.

"The environment needs to be a state and government policy, and it must count on the contribution of the whole society, since it is a collective construction, in which everyone must do their part," he analyzes.

The event also featured a lecture by Edson Duarte, former federal deputy for the State of Bahia, who spoke about leadership training in the environmental field; a presentation of party accounts by the Secretary of Administration of the Green Party, José Antonio Britto; and a lecture entitled "Basic Sanitation: its importance for the Environment," given by chemical engineer Florentino Filho.

"Without a doubt, our seminar was very productive and enriching. We appreciate the participation of the guest speakers and all the Green Party leaders present," says councilwoman Teresa Britto, president of the Green Party in Piauí.
