PTN rules out return to ACM Neto's base.
The president of the PTN party in Bahia, federal deputy João Carlos Bacelar (pictured), reiterates his "commitment" to the PT in the race for mayor of Salvador this year, and rules out the possibility of the party returning to the base of ACM Neto (DEM), who will try to be re-elected; a PTN quota in Rui Costa's government, the director of Detran, Lúcio Gomes, reiterates Bacelar's words: "I don't see any indication that we will return to the mayor's base. Especially since the experience wasn't the best possible. So, we will continue to be faithful to the political project in which we find ourselves today," says Lúcio.
Bahia 247 - The president of the PTN party in Bahia, federal deputy João Carlos Bacelar, reiterates his "commitment" to the PT, and affirms that the party may also form an alliance with the PT for proportional representation lists. "Our understanding is that we will have four or five coalitions, and we are in talks with the PT," says Bacelar.
The Director-General of Detran, Lúcio Gomes, vehemently dismisses the possibility of the PTN party rebuilding the base of Mayor ACM Neto (DEM) in the Salvador City Council, a speculation that was even acknowledged by the Democrat himself.
"Absolutely not today. Our leader, Representative Bacelar, has made it very clear that we are part of Governor Rui Costa's support base, and that's how we should remain. I don't see any indication that we're returning to the mayor's base. Especially since the experience wasn't the best possible. So, we will continue to be loyal to the political project we are currently involved in," says the director of Detran.
Lúcio Gomes believes that the PTN will have a strong presence in the City Council. "We believe we will have the same electoral strength as we had in the last election. Our expectation is to maintain this strength. Salvador is a PTN stronghold. We will certainly be able to maintain our electoral base."
