PT denies isolation.

The regional president of the party, Deputy Pedro Eugênio, assures that the Workers' Party (PT) is discussing the formation of an alliance with parties that have not yet declared support for Geraldo Júlio's candidacy. However, the leader does not reveal the parties; this work is being conducted by candidate Humberto Costa.

Leonardo Lucena_PE247 – Despite the PT's isolation in Recife, the party's president in Pernambuco, Deputy Pedro Eugênio, assures that there is coordination between the party and other parties in the Popular Front. However, the leader does not reveal which parties are the targets of his group, since the process is being led by Senator and PT candidate, Humberto Costa. Among the allies, not yet fully defined, the PP is the one that would be closest to supporting the PT.

"We are in dialogue with other parties within the government coalition. We are not completely isolated. Our candidacy is firm," stated federal deputy Pedro Eugênio.

Regarding the possibility of the current mayor of the capital, João da Costa (PT), supporting Humberto Costa, after failing in his appeal filed with the National Directorate to guarantee his right to reelection, Eugênio did not anticipate any thoughts on the matter.

“I don’t want to make any predictions about João da Costa’s stance going forward. But we hope he will support us,” he said. According to him, the current administration doesn’t have as low an approval rating as the opposition claims. “The problem was in the political management, not the administrative one,” he emphasized.

According to the assessment of the municipal secretary of the PT (Workers' Party), Rosano Carvalho, the party has strong social support, which increases the possibility of victory in the elections.

"What society criticizes is the way the PT conducts the management process. However, the population recognizes the actions of the city hall. So much so that the PT is the most popular party in the city," the leader added.
