The Workers' Party (PT) of São Paulo forms a task force in support of Dilma and Padilha.
The municipal directory and council members of the São Paulo capital are implementing the "PT in the streets" campaign in an attempt to boost votes for President Dilma, who is seven points behind Marina Silva in the state, and for the state governor candidate Alexandre Padilha, who has 9% in the polls.
SP 247 – The municipal branch of the Workers' Party (PT) in São Paulo, with the support of the PT's council members, has organized a task force to boost the candidacy of President Dilma Rousseff, who is running for re-election representing the party, and the candidate for state governor, Alexandre Padilha.
Both are facing difficulties in the state. While Dilma registers 27% of voting intentions, seven points behind the leader, Marina Silva (PSB), according to a Datafolha poll released last Friday, the 26th, Padilha has 9%, far behind the second-placed Paulo Skaf (22%), and 48 points behind Governor Geraldo Alckmin (51%), according to the same poll.
In this final stretch, the last week before the first round of elections, the goal of the São Paulo PT (Workers' Party), presided over by Paulo Fiorilo, is to organize events in the city, which activists call "PT na Rua" (PT in the Street). Twice a day, the party distributes leaflets at various points in the capital with the help of party leaders, as well as city councilors and municipal secretaries.
The idea, according to the party leadership in the city, is to try to overcome the barrier that is hindering the campaigns, especially Dilma's. This weekend, the state PT also mobilized across the state to boost the reelection campaigns of Dilma and Senator Eduardo Suplicy, as well as Padilha.
City council members in São Paulo produced a video supporting Dilma and Padilha. Watch it:
