Bahia 247 - Former President Lula faces an arduous task in this year's elections. In addition to his efforts in President Dilma Rousseff's reelection campaign, the PT's top leader also has the mission of reversing the situation of the PT's candidate for governor of Bahia, federal deputy Rui Costa.

Chosen by the personal decision of Governor Jaques Wagner, the unknown Rui does not exceed 9% in voting intention polls, and in the latest one, released five days ago by Ibope, he scored only 8%.

According to a note in the "Tempo Presente" column of the newspaper A Tarde, Lula's support should enter the race in Bahia starting next month and will be one of the priorities of the honorary president of the PT, as should also happen in Minas Gerais, where Dilma does not have a dual platform.

According to the column, Lula's presence alongside Rui is considered by PT members in Bahia to be stronger than associating the candidate with Dilma or Wagner.

The PT's national leadership understands that the party cannot lose Bahia, a state that holds the fourth largest electorate in the country, is governed by Jaques Wagner for two consecutive terms, and where Dilma had her most significant victory in 2010.
