PSDC, PT councilman and a faction of PSB will support Marconi.
During a meeting with supporters in Goiânia, Governor Marconi Perillo received support from former gubernatorial candidate Alexandre Magalhães (PSDC), pictured, city councilman Felizberto Tavares (PT), and members of the PSB, Vanderlan Cardoso's party; the businessman has not yet officially commented on his support in the second round; a decision is expected tomorrow or Friday.
Goiás247 - The meeting with activists this Wednesday morning at the Central Committee headquarters in Goiânia served as an opportunity for Governor Marconi Perillo to ask his supporters for "humility and more work" in the second round. The leadership of the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) campaign has as its main objective to maintain Marconi's strength in the interior of the state – he won in 231 of the state's 246 municipalities.
At the meeting, Marconi received further support. Former gubernatorial candidate Alexandre Magalhães, from the PSDC party, said he will support the candidate from the PSDB party. “We will not form a coalition with Iris Rezende's PMDB party, which is supported by the PT. It's archaic and outdated; we don't want that for Goiás,” Magalhães told Jornal Opção, describing Marconi as modern.
Councilman Felizberto Tavares (PT) is another who will support Marconi in the second round. Felizberto ran for state representative but failed to get elected. He voted against the increase in property tax (IPTU) in the controversial vote in the City Council. Felizberto, like Councilman Tayrone di Martino, was suspended by the party.
Businessman Vanderlan Cardoso has not yet announced who the PSB will support. The decision is expected tomorrow or Friday. On Wednesday, party leaders such as the vice-mayor of Senador Canedo, Alsueres Mariano; the councilman for Aparecida de Goiânia, João Antônio (PSB); and the president of the PSB in Morrinhos, Tiãozinho do Ônibus, declared their support for Marconi.
