Protests force Aécio to cancel trip to Pernambuco.
The pre-candidate for President of the Republic for the PSDB, Senator Aécio Neves (MG), is no longer coming to Pernambuco, where he was to spend São João in Caruaru, in the Agreste region of the state, and, on Monday (24), would have a private conversation with Governor Eduardo Campos (PSB); the PSDB, which is nationally chaired by the parliamentarian, informed that the cancellation of the trip was made to avoid exposing the politician amidst the avalanche of protests taking place in the country.
PE247 – The pre-candidate for President of the Republic for the PSDB, Senator Aécio Neves (MG), is no longer coming to Pernambuco, where he was to spend São João, in Caruaru, in the Agreste region of the state, and, on Monday (24), was to have a conversation with Governor Eduardo Campos (PSB), without a specific agenda for the meeting. The PSDB, which is chaired nationally by the parliamentarian, informed that the objective of canceling the trip was to avoid exposing the tucano amidst the avalanche of protests that are occurring in the country.
Last Tuesday (18), the senator stated, in Brasília (DF), during an event commemorating the 25th anniversary of the founding of the PSDB, that he would be disembarking in Pernambuco at the invitation of his fellow party member and federal deputy Sérgio Guerra (PE), but that he would also come to meet with “friend and governor Eduardo Campos (PSB)”. As the PSB member is considered a candidate for the Presidency, he is interested, as is Aécio, in taking the dispute to the second round in 2014.
