Prosecution: Pistorius committed a premeditated crime.
International star of Olympic and Paralympic sport, Oscar Pistorius cried after being formally charged in court with the murder of his girlfriend on Thursday; model Reeva Steenkamp died from four gunshot wounds inflicted by the sprinter's weapon.
PRETORIA, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Prosecutors will argue that international Olympic and Paralympic sports star Oscar Pistorius committed a premeditated crime when he murdered his girlfriend with four shots in his luxury home, prosecutors told the court on Friday.
Pistorius, known as "Blade Runner" because of the prosthetic legs he uses to run, cried after being formally charged in court the previous day with the murder of his girlfriend.
The South African sprinter gained worldwide fame by becoming the first double amputee athlete to compete in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London last year.
