Goiás 247 - In a meeting to evaluate the Goiás Mais Competitivo program, Governor Marconi Perillo requested, this Monday morning, from public executives, greater detail on the projects that make up the program's portfolio and reinforced the request for commitment. The meeting, held in the Government Situation Room, on the 10th floor of the Pedro Ludovico Palace, in Goiânia, was attended by the entire cabinet.
The "More Competitive Goiás" program was launched in November 2015 by the state government with the goal of creating a governmental action plan to position the state of Goiás among the most competitive in Brazil. To this end, the execution of projects in all their core areas and the status of key indicators are monitored through a central system with interactive dashboards and real-time data.
The situational diagnosis has already been completed. The consulting firm Macroplan, accompanied by the Secretariat of Management and Planning (Segplan), analyzed state indicators, with 77 being examined in depth, mainly in the areas of health, education, and security. From this study, 15 priority programs emerged. Now, most of the actions that will bring these priority programs to life in the relevant areas are in the execution phase.
Marconi emphasized that the meeting aims to make adjustments to overcome the challenges at hand. He also requested that the secretariat provide more detailed information on projects currently being implemented by their departments, on a monthly basis. “We need detailed information, at the activity level, to ensure timely interventions before problems arise. It is necessary to specify all plans and results, even if these, at first glance, appear to be in the red,” he stressed.
He highlighted the positive work of the Education and Health departments in detailing their activities. Regarding Security, Marconi said that Secretary José Eliton is beginning to see results. In the area of Infrastructure, despite the lack of resources last year, improvements to the road network, airports, and basic sanitation are progressing. "The Comptroller General's Office and the Department of Education still need to provide more detail on their projects," he assessed.
“Overall, all executives are working to achieve the results of the ‘More Competitive Goiás’ program. But now is the time to dedicate ourselves even more,” he noted. He said that Inova Goiás complements this program to mitigate the effects of the economic crisis the country is going through and to establish itself as one of the greatest success stories in competitiveness. “This will lead Goiás to reap good results,” he assessed.
