Julliana Araújo_PE247 - The Government of Pernambuco will give public school students the opportunity to participate in exchanges in English-speaking countries. In total, 474 scholarships will be offered to students from 237 state schools. The action is part of a program that will be launched this Thursday (3) by Governor Eduardo Campos (PSB).
In addition to the exchange program, intensive English and Spanish courses will be offered to students enrolled in the first year of regular, semi-full-time, or integrated vocational high school in 2011. R$ 50 million will be invested in the initiative.
Two students from each teaching unit who excel the most in the intensive course will participate in an exchange program in countries such as New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. 24 places are being created, with approximately 20 for English courses and the remainder for Spanish courses. By the end of 2012, the program will serve 72 students.
