UFG professors will strike on the 18th.

The decision was made this Wednesday, the 13th, with 56% of the votes in favor. The Adufg leadership is expected to make a statement only this Thursday, when it will meet to define the course of action for the strike movement.

247 - A referendum by professors at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) decided in favor of a strike, which will begin early next week. The vote was held this Wednesday, the 13th. In total, there were 486 votes (56%) in favor of the strike and 343 against (40%), plus 13 blank votes and 12 null votes.

On Tuesday the 12th, the technical-administrative staff had already decided to go on strike, and before that, the students approved a work stoppage starting this week. The professors at UFG were the last to decide to support the national movement of work stoppages in federal universities across the country.

Among the demands are:

- Equalization of the salary floor and ceiling for the category with the careers in Science and Technology;

- compensation for 16% of accumulated wage losses over the last three years;

- Immediate removal of the altered calculations for hazardous and unhealthy working conditions;

- Improvement in working conditions and infrastructure of higher education institutions linked to the federal government.
