According to information gathered by Radio GazetaGecoc had been monitoring the accused since the first competition, which was annulled after irregularities. Agents reported that the professor carried an identity document with his photo, but with the data of the former prison guard.
After being approached, Israel was arrested at the entrance to the school and taken to the Central Flagrant Crimes Unit I, in the Farol neighborhood, where he was charged with falsifying documents.
As for the former agent, identified as Euzir de Albuquerque Ferraz, police officers executed search and seizure warrants at his home, where they found five .38 caliber revolver cartridges and ten 9mm pistol cartridges, the latter being restricted to the Armed Forces.
Only his wife, Cláudia Patrícia Coutinho, was present at the scene. She was also taken to the police station and will face charges for illegal possession of ammunition. Euzir, on the other hand, fled upon learning of the professor's arrest.
