Tocantins 247 - The Tocantins Consumer Protection Agency (Procon) issued notices this week to seven gas stations in the Taquaralto and downtown Palmas regions, following a recent increase in the price of regular gasoline at the pumps. The largest increase was R$ 0,28, rising from R$ 4,119 to R$ 4,399, while the smallest adjustment, of R$ 0,09, changed the price from R$ 4,099 to R$ 4,189.
According to the Procon Inspection Manager, Magno Silva, the notified companies must present, within 48 hours, copies of the invoices for regular gasoline, referring to the period from October 9th to November 8th of this year. With the documentation, the manager clarifies that the technicians will assess whether there was a price adjustment by the distributors that justifies the increase.
"If it is found that there has been no price adjustment on their part, the gas stations will be fined for raising the price of the product without just cause, demanding excessive advantage from the consumer, according to article 39, V and X of the Consumer Protection Code," pointed out Magno Silva, warning that Procon continues to monitor all commerce in the Capital.
