City Hall resumes services in the rural area of Catalão.

Goiás247_ The precarious state of roads in rural areas is now receiving special attention from the City Hall of Catalão. The Infrastructure Department resumed the repair and construction of cattle grids and bridges this week. “Initially, we are revitalizing the main roads, which have heavy traffic in rural areas, to improve the flow of crops and restart student transportation,” announced Rodrigo Alves Carvelo, “Rodrigão”, vice-mayor and Secretary of Infrastructure.

In the previous administration, approximately 500 cattle grids were built in four years. The same quantity must be built in six months, as determined by Mayor Jardel Sebba. “Under the PMDB administration, only one cattle grid was manufactured per day. Now, we are organizing a new structure to increase production, and with the new expansion, eight cattle grids will be produced daily; with emphasis, of course, on roads with higher traffic flow, and not as it happened before, when only friends of the city hall benefited,” assured Rodrigão.

A resident of the area known as Posse do Riacho, Mr. Jeová Ferreira da Silva was one of the rural producers who benefited from the installation of the cattle guard. He had needed this service done for some time, but was unable to get it done through the city hall. “It’s good that Mayor Jardel and Rodrigão managed to install the cattle guard here before a month into their administration. They are men of their word.”

Other farmers in the Posse do Riacho region and the Contendas Farm also received the service. In the Olhos d'água community, the bridge over the Ouvidor stream was renovated as part of the work carried out this week. “The services will continue. We want to clarify once again that the priority is work on the main roads and the most critical cases, but we are already assessing the need for repairs and construction of cattle guards on rural roads, as well as bridge repairs, which should be done in partnership with the Department of Public Works,” explained Rodrigão.
