City Hall authorizes construction of CMEI (Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education) in Taquaruçu

The new CMEI will have the capacity to serve approximately 300 children and will have a constructed area of ​​812,67 m², divided into six classrooms, a playroom, kitchen, cafeteria, lactation room, kiosk, playground, interactive shower, among other spaces. The work will be carried out with resources from the Municipality of Palmas, in an investment of R$ 1.499.886,51. The winning company in the bidding process, Hikari Construções Ltda, will have eight months to complete the project.

Tocantins 247 - Mayor Carlos Amastha (PP) signed the service order on Tuesday, the 31st, to begin construction of a Municipal Early Childhood Education Center (CMEI) in the Taquaruçu district. The CMEI project will be carried out by the company Hikari Construções Ltda, which won the bidding process. 

With capacity to serve approximately 300 children, the new CMEI (Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education) will have a constructed area of ​​812,67 m², guaranteeing adequate physical structure for students and staff. The project will be executed with resources from the Municipality of Palmas and totals R$ 1.499.886,51. The unit's physical structure will include six classrooms, a playroom, kitchen, cafeteria, lactation room, kiosk, playground, interactive shower, among other spaces. After the start of construction, which is scheduled to take place by the end of this month, the company will have eight months to deliver the project.

According to the Municipal Secretary of Education, Danilo Mello, the initiative to build new units represents an improvement in the public education system of the capital. "The goal of Mayor Amastha's administration is to expand the education network and improve the quality of service for students," he assured.

Seven more CMEIs

According to the Palmas City Hall, the education network will be expanded this year with the construction of seven more CMEIs (Municipal Centers for Early Childhood Education). The works will be carried out through the National Program for Restructuring and Acquiring Equipment for the Public School Network of Early Childhood Education (Proinfância), which is part of the actions of the Education Development Plan (PDE) of the Ministry of Education. The bidding process is expected to begin next month, so that the construction of these units can start this semester. The federal resources for the construction of these seven new units total R$ 9.984.767,84.

The construction locations for the projects have already been strategically defined to democratically include all regions of the capital. Therefore, new CMEIs (Municipal Centers for Early Childhood Education) will be built in the following blocks: 305 South, 1.006 South, 1.104 South, 1.406 South, Aureny I, Bertaville Sector, and Santo Amaro Sector. With these projects inaugurated, Palmas will have 36 CMEIs, guaranteeing access to quality education for approximately 12 children. (With information from Secom Palmas)
