Mayor inaugurates community center in Saramandaia

Bahia 247 - Mayor ACM Neto (DEM) delivered this Friday (13) the Saramandaia Social Assistance Center, as part of the celebrations for Salvador's 466th anniversary. This was the first initiative of a set planned in the social area, which includes actions such as the delivery of Primeiro Passo cards, which began yesterday (12).

The center underwent painting, roof and electrical system repairs, as well as floor and garden restoration, to offer better services to the children and teenagers assisted by the Cidade-Mãe Foundation. Approximately 400 young people aged between eight and 24 years participate in the activities offered at the facility.

For the socio-educational workshops, the unit has a structure comprising a reception area, workshop rooms, restrooms, a library, a TV room, a computer lab, interactive and dance rooms, among other spaces.

ACM Neto recalled that the unit's renovation was only possible thanks to the restructuring of the organization. "The Cidade-Mãe Foundation was completely destroyed, without projects, with closed spaces. In the past, Salvador had to spend March 29th in silence, but now we can offer a whole month of celebrations to the city. Everywhere we look there are achievements. With this center, we are offering the conditions for these children and young people to pursue their dreams, and this will allow us to have great talents in the future."

Canal

Before the center's inauguration, the mayor visited Jardim das Margaridas to assess the need for cleaning a canal that also runs through the municipality of Lauro de Freitas and requested the Municipal Maintenance Secretariat (Seman) to provide a budget and survey of critical points that will require emergency intervention, in addition to the reconstruction of guardrails on bridges over the canal, which will begin to be carried out by the agency within the next 15 days.

The Democrat also requested some pothole repair work, which began during the visit to the neighborhood.
