The mayor of Piracicaba promises dialogue with the population.

SP247 - Piracicaba swore in its new mayor early Tuesday morning. Gabriel Ferrato (PSDB) arrived at City Hall highlighting that "Piracicaba is one of the most important cities in the country." "We will consolidate this importance and work to enhance it even further," he promised.

Ferato also emphasized that one of his main commitments during his administration is to engage in dialogue with the population and provide periodic reports on the actions undertaken by the city government. The PSDB party elected six city council members in the October elections.

Ferrato's deputy, João Chaddad, is also a member of the PSDB party. The city has been governed by the party for over a decade – Barjas Negri, the mayor who recently handed over the position to Ferrato, was Minister of Health during Fernando Henrique Cardoso's government.
