Tocantins 247 - Continuing his visits to the capital, the candidate for governor of Tocantins, Senator Ataídes Oliveira (PROS), was in the 712 South block this Thursday, the 31st. There, Ataídes visited the local businesses and spoke with residents. Ataídes was accompanied by the candidate for vice-governor, Cinthia Ribeiro (PTN), the candidate for senator, State Representative Sergeant Aragão (PROS), the councilman of Palmas, Etinho Nordeste (PROS), as well as candidates for state and federal representative from the "Reage Tocantins" Coalition.

"Everyone is discouraged with politics, but only the people have the power to give Tocantins a new direction," Ataídes stated during visits.

According to information from Pros, wherever he went, Ataídes said that, before entering politics, he was waiting for a governor "who would pull the state out of the worst situation." "Since that didn't happen," says Pros, Ataídes decided to put his name forward with the intention of truly making a change. "I had the attitude and the courage to put my name forward to change this situation," explained the senator.

During these four days of campaigning in Palmas, where he has been presenting himself to the population, listening to their demands and outlining his proposals, Ataídes says that the citizens' dissatisfaction is evident. "I shook hands with over a thousand people, talked to them, listened to them. Nobody is satisfied with the current government or with the state of Tocantins. However, I am here willing to break with the old politics," he stated.

Retired Alberto Milhomens, 72, has lived in Palmas since its founding. He expressed his dissatisfaction with Tocantins politics. "It's difficult to find someone who is satisfied with politics in Tocantins." But he stated that he still has hope for a better-governed state. "We need to have hope until the end, and I felt confident in Senator Ataídes Oliveira. I wish him all the best in his quest for governor," he said.
