247- The Military Police of Monte Alegre de Minas, in Minas Gerais, arrested 26 members of the Landless Workers' Movement (MST) on Wednesday for occupying the Palermo Farm, located 15 km from the city center. Soldier Marcel Lima, from the city's battalion, stated that the operation took almost the entire day. "We already knew that a group from the MST would arrive in the city to take possession of the Palermo Farm. A patrol car was already waiting at the property when they arrived," he said in an interview with the newspaper Estado de S. Paulo.

According to the city police, the injunction stated that the land occupation process had not yet been completed by the National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra), as the entity still needs to visit the site to certify the property as being of interest for agrarian reform.
