The São Paulo Military Police used bombs and tear gas against protesters from the Homeless Workers' Movement (MTST), who were demonstrating on Paulista Avenue against the interim government of Michel Temer and for the right to housing; according to the protesters, three men and one woman were detained; the action began after members of the movement set off fireworks on the avenue.

Since 14:30 pm today (1st), the MTST has been occupying the lobby of the building where the Presidency of the Republic's office is located, on Avenida Paulista, corner of Rua Augusta, in the city of São Paulo. They said they are protesting against the suspension of part of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program by the federal government.
According to MTST coordinator Guilherme Boulos, the movement intends to remain encamped at the site.
