Police hunt suspects in lawyer's murder.

Alagoas247 - An integrated and coordinated operation by the State Secretariat for Social Defense and Rehabilitation (Sedres) was set up on Wednesday morning (25), with the intention of locating the suspects of killing lawyer Rangel Menezes de Oliveira, 59, a crime that occurred on Tuesday night in the Ponta Verde neighborhood, in Maceió. Civil Police agents and military police officers were mobilized to surround Vale do Reginaldo. Information that reached Sedres indicates that the accused were hiding in this location.

Agents from the Integrated Coastal Police Operation (Oplit), the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope), the 1st Military Police Battalion (BPM), and the Events Police Battalion (BPE) are part of the operation. At least three access points to Reginaldo were blocked by the police in an attempt to capture the suspects in this homicide. The Civil Defense helicopter is conducting aerial patrols of the region.

COMMISSION - A commission will investigate the lawyer's death. The General Delegation of the Civil Police has appointed detectives Manuel Acássio, from the Special Division of Investigation and Captures (Deic), José Carlos André dos Santos, coordinator of the Homicide Division of the Capital, and Fabrício Souza, from the Civil Police Intelligence Service, to handle the case.

Death

Lawyer Rangel Menezes de Oliveira died at the State General Hospital (HGE) late Tuesday night. After undergoing surgery, he did not survive. Witnesses revealed that he was inside his silver Hilux when he was approached by three heavily armed men on foot, with the support of another man in a Fox. According to witnesses, an off-duty police officer noticed the criminal activity and shot at the assailants. At the time of the crime, Rangel was shot and taken to the HGE in serious condition.
