Goiás247 - Antônio Gomide's candidacy for governor of Goiás on the PT's ticket caused a real rift in the party's relationship with the PMDB. The PMDB members had hoped for the PT's support, but the PT didn't want to wait and launched the former mayor of Anápolis.

The PMDB party in Goiás will retaliate during the campaign. Journalist Denise Rothenburg, in her column in the Correio Braziliense newspaper, states that the order within the PMDB is not to lift a finger for the reelection of President Dilma Rousseff. The party now also has as its Senate candidate, Congressman Ronaldo Caiado (DEM), a declared enemy of Dilma.
