PMDB joins the government's base with four positions.
Following a meeting between the president of the PMDB party, federal deputy Marcelo Castro, the president of the Legislative Assembly, deputy Themístocles Filho, and Governor Wellington Dias, negotiations for government positions in exchange for support for Governor Wellington Dias' reelection in 2018 have been concluded. It was agreed that the party will nominate four top-level positions in the Wellington Dias government: the PMDB will nominate the SASC (State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Citizenship), the general directorate of DER-PI (Department of Roads of Piauí), the directorate of PCPR, and the directorate of EPISERH (Piauí Hospital Services Company).
Piauí Today Although no one from the PMDB has officially commented on the matter, the negotiation for filling government positions in exchange for support for Governor Wellington Dias' reelection in 2018 is complete. It was agreed that the party will nominate four top-level officials in Wellington Dias' government.
Yesterday (13), the president of the PMDB, federal deputy Marcelo Castro, and the president of the Legislative Assembly, deputy Themístocles Filho, were at the Karnak Palace, meeting behind closed doors with Wellington Dias.
Until early afternoon on Tuesday (14), no one appeared who wanted to comment on the outcome of the conversation. But a source from the Legislative Assembly revealed that there was a turnaround in the PMDB's nominations for positions in the government.
The PMDB party will now appoint individuals to the SASC (State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Citizenship), the general directorate of DER-PI (Department of Highways of Piauí), the directorate of PCPR, and EPISERH (Piauí Hospital Services Company).
The PMDB's nominations could hinder negotiations with other parties, such as PP, PCdoB, and PTC. The Progressive Party, of Senator Ciro Nogueira and Vice-Governor Margarete Coelho, wants to nominate the Secretary of State for Health, but the separation of hospital services may not be well received by the party.
PCPR was supposed to be an indication from PTC, from deputy Evaldo Gomes. The nominee would be the former mayor of Novo Oriente, Marcos Vinicius, but yesterday's conversation with PMDB completely changed the positions that will be indicated by the parties in this administrative mini-reform that should be announced by Friday (117) by Wellington Dias.
