Alagoas247 - The Federal Police (PF) launched, on the morning of this Wednesday (5), an operation to combat child pornography on the internet in Alagoas. Named "Online Danger", the operation carried out six search and seizure warrants, three of them in Maceió and three others in Marechal Deodoro.

According to the Federal Police, the investigation began in March 2013. The police identified six locations from which access to the World Wide Web originated and from where images of child pornography were disseminated.

In addition to six search and seizure warrants, summonses were served, requiring the suspects to appear before the Federal Police to provide statements. According to the Federal Police, the suspects shared photos of children, including babies, many of whom were being sexually abused by adults, and posted them on social media.

All material collected during the execution of the search warrants will be examined in order to identify the criminals, as well as the producers of child pornography, which will also serve as a basis for the start of new investigations.

Approximately 30 agents directly participated in the operation. The Federal Police also reported that the operation's name was chosen to emphasize the problems that can arise from using the internet to commit crimes.
