Goiás247_ Urgent and unavoidable investments in Celg. This was the main demand made today by Governor Marconi Perillo to the Minister of Mines and Energy, Edison Lobão, and the president of Eletrobrás, José da Costa Carvalho Netto. Accompanied by the presidents of CelgPar, Fernando Navarrete, and CelgD, Leonardo Lins de Albuquerque, and the state Secretary of Finance, Simão Cirineu, the governor gave a brief account of the company's situation. The governor argued that the Goiás economy is growing above the national average and, therefore, the demand for energy is high. If investments are not made in the short term, Marconi argued, the state risks losing the race to attract new companies.

According to the governor, Minister Edison Lobão, like the Eletrobras board, showed sensitivity to the requests presented. To that end, the minister announced the creation of a specific commission to analyze the matter and the feasibility of meeting the request for an emergency supply of at least 100 megawatts. "Since Goiás has experienced an approximately 8% growth in energy demand, we need to make investments in this area in the coming years," stated Marconi.

Before heading to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Marconi met with the Secretary of the National Treasury, Arno Augustin. During the meeting, he requested a credit of 500 million reais to capitalize the Development Agency and enable it to provide loans to municipalities so they can purchase machinery and carry out public works. He also presented the National Treasury Secretariat with a proposal to restructure part of Goiás's external debt, in order to allow for less commitment of state revenue to the payment of charges. "We had an excellent reception from the Secretary," said the governor, shortly after the meeting with Arno Augustin.
