Perillo announces the transfer of R$ 20 million to municipalities.
The funds are earmarked for investments in healthcare; the first installment, of R$ 10 million, was deposited on Thursday by the State Secretariat; during the 5th State Health Meeting, held in the city of Caldas Novas, the governor of Goiás requested more federal funds for the area.
Goiás247_ The Governor of Goiás, Marconi Perillo (PSDB), visited the municipality of Caldas Novas and announced a transfer of approximately R$ 20 million to the municipalities of Goiás. Marconi Perillo, who was accompanied by the First Lady Valéria Jaime Perillo, participated in the closing of the 5th State Health Meeting, held since March 22nd in the capital of the thermal waters.
Approximately 800 people attended the event, held at the Golden Dolphin Grand Hotel. The Governor addressed health secretaries, managers, and technical advisors from the 246 municipalities of Goiás. Marconi Perillo announced the transfer of 20 million reais to the municipalities, representing the state's contribution to healthcare.
“The State Health Secretariat deposited 10 million reais today (Thursday) for the municipalities. The money is part of the state counterpart that had not yet been transferred. Another installment of the same value will be deposited in the coming days. And we reiterate that the regularity of payments is a hallmark of our government, which makes massive investments in the area of public health. Proof of this is the construction of Credeq (Center of Reference and Excellence in Chemical Dependency) units, which will be built in Caldas Novas and four other regions,” declared Governor Marconi Perillo.
Mayor Evandro Magal, host of the event, thanked the Governor for the attention he has given to Caldas Novas and the entire region. “Governor Marconi Perillo is a person who has sacrificed his personal life for the public good and the development of our state. Goiás has made a leap in economic development in recent years, and we need the state to continue to be this example of strength. I publicly thank the Governor for all the benefits granted to our region and the special attention given to Caldas Novas,” said the mayor of Caldas Novas, Evandro Magal.
Funds
Perillo asked the secretaries and managers of the municipalities to join the “Health + 10” initiative, the name of the proposed constitutional amendment that aims to gather 1,5 million signatures so that the federal government allocates 10% of its gross revenue to health. Currently, the allocation is around 6%.
The governor spoke about the importance of the constitutional amendment which, if approved, could change health promotion policy and indicators throughout the country. “It is important that everyone participates in this large petition, which will demand greater investments in public health from the Federal Government. With this innovation, we will change the health indicators not only of Goiás, but of all of Brazil. Health is built with love, dedication, and committed professionals, but it also requires money and funding,” said Governor Marconi Perillo.
Credeq
Upon disembarking, Marconi Perillo spoke in a press conference about the benefits the Government of Goiás has brought to southern Goiás. The Governor highlighted the construction of Credeq units and the rehabilitation of highways.
“Agetop has begun the reconstruction of the highway that connects Caldas Novas to Corumbaíba. The same is happening in other cities in Goiás. The works have started now, as it was not possible before due to the rains. But the government has money allocated for the reconstruction of 2.200 kilometers of highways in the coming days. We intend to recover at least 4.300 kilometers of asphalt by the end of this year with the Rodovida Program. There is also the Rodovida Urbano program, where hundreds of municipalities, including Caldas Novas, have benefited. Urban resurfacing should begin in June,” said the Governor of Goiás, Marconi Perillo.
Caldas Novas will benefit from the duplication of sections of state highways that provide access to the municipality. Governor Marconi Perillo stated that the exits to Marzagão and Goiânia will be duplicated. The project, which is in the design phase, has a budget of 20 million reais.
The governor also recalled the public safety actions that brought crime to a standstill at events such as the Family Carnival and Holy Week, both organized by the Caldas Novas city hall. “I met with Mayor Evandro Magal several times in these first months of my term. We carried out decisive actions in public safety and in combating crime, which was practically reduced to zero, at major events such as Carnival and Holy Week. Now, in partnership with the city hall, we will double the highways leading into Caldas Novas and we will also double the stretch from Goiânia to Bela Vista, which is heavily used by tourists visiting the municipality. This is the beginning of a partnership that will guarantee good results for the entire region,” he stated.
