PDT and PSB unite behind Márcio Lacerda for the government of Minas Gerais.

The PDT of Minas Gerais formalized its support for Márcio Lacerda's (PSB) candidacy for state governor; at the national level, the two parties have not yet decided on forming an alliance; according to the former mayor of Belo Horizonte, "there is a willingness on the part of both parties [PDT and PSB], but the PSB also needs to reach an internal understanding, because there are factions that advocate for the party not to be on any major presidential ticket."

Mines 247 - The PDT of Minas Gerais formalized this Tuesday (5) its support for the candidacy of Márcio Lacerda (PSB) for state government.

At the national level, the two parties have not yet decided on forming an alliance. According to the former mayor of Belo Horizonte, "there is a willingness on the part of both parties [PDT and PSB], but the PSB also needs to reach an internal understanding, because there are factions that advocate for the party not to be on any major presidential ticket."

Lacerda was secretary to Ciro Gomes (PDT) at the Ministry of National Integration and is close to the politician, with whom he claims to have a good personal, political and working relationship.

The former mayor of Belo Horizonte said there is "a lot of discussion ahead" and avoided saying which position he prefers to run for. "We are here starting an alliance to win the election for governor. I didn't want to discuss a possibility that is still uncertain," he added.
