Police arrest Penedo's communications secretary.
The Secretary of Communication for the municipality of Penedo, Rafael Medeiros de França, was arrested in the early hours of this Friday (6), during an operation by the Special Division of Investigations and Captures (Deic). He is accused of involvement in a homicide.
Alagoas247 - In an interview with a local radio station, police chief Cícero Lima stated that the secretary was aware of the criminal act that culminated in the death of 17-year-old Daniel de Araújo Santos. On March 12th of this year, the young man was in an internet café in the Rosete Andrade neighborhood when three armed men kidnapped him. Daniel was shot to death and his body was found in a sugarcane field in the rural area of Penedo.
According to the police, Rafael Medeiros lent his own car to the criminals who committed the homicide. Ubiraci Batista and civil police officer Gledson are also suspects in this case. Jorge Ferreira is in custody accused of the crime.
In the Lower São Francisco region, DEIC agents are executing warrants for suspects of drug trafficking and homicide. The operations are being led by detectives Ana Luiza Nogueira, Cícero Lima, and Nilson Alcântara.
