The Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) wants to install Edvaldo as senator for the small coalition.

In a conversation with Sergipe 247 on Saturday morning (21), the president of the PC do B, Hallison Sousa, said that he will take to the group of independent parties, on Monday (23), when they will meet, at the PSDB headquarters, the proposal to launch former mayor Edvaldo Nogueira as the coalition's candidate for senator; questioned about Governor Jackson Barreto's position in already defining Rogério as his candidate for the Senate, Hallison says that this does not change "for now" his party's position of supporting the governor's re-election candidacy, but he stresses that "if there is a new fact, the PC do B may indeed reconsider its situation"

Valter Lima, from Sergipe 247 - The Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) is determined to fight until the last moment for the pre-candidacy of former mayor Edvaldo Nogueira for senator. After hearing from Governor Jackson Barreto (PMDB) that, in the government's ticket, the seat will go to the Workers' Party (PT), through its state president, federal deputy Rogério Carvalho, the PCdoB will now try to place Edvaldo as the senatorial candidate within the group of independent parties that tend to form a small coalition for the proportional representation election.

In a conversation with Sergipe 247 on Saturday morning (21), the president of PC do B, Hallison Sousa, said that he will take the proposal to the group on Monday (23), when they will meet, at the PSDB headquarters, for another round of discussions on the viability of the independent group. "We will take this proposal to the group of parties. There are seven parties today discussing an alternative proportional list. So I will propose Edvaldo's name for the Senate," he explained.

When questioned about Governor Jackson Barreto's decision to already name Rogério as his Senate candidate, Hallison says that this does not change his party's position of supporting the governor's reelection bid, but he emphasizes that "if new developments arise, the PCdoB may indeed reconsider its position." "For the government, for now, the discussion is about strengthening Jackson Barreto's candidacy, but if new developments arise, the PCdoB may reconsider the matter," he explained.
