It seems she's really coming.
President Dilma Rousseff reportedly told Senator Humberto Costa (PT), during a dinner at the home of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Marco Maia, in Brasília, that she will come to Recife to participate in his campaign for mayor of the capital; this information comes from journalist Cláudio Humberto.
PE247- According to journalist Cláudio Humberto, who writes columns for several newspapers in the country, President Dilma Rousseff (PT) reportedly told Senator Humberto Costa (PT), during a dinner at the home of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Marco Maia, in Brasília, that she will come to Recife to participate in his campaign. This news reportedly thrilled the senator, who practically blocked the use of images of the head of the national Executive branch and former President Lula by his main opponent, Geraldo Júlio (PSB).
However, it is worth noting that Dilma made it clear that she wants to keep administrative matters separate from electoral ones. The president, through the Minister of Communications, Paulo Bernardo, informed that she intends to distance herself from municipal campaign events.
Governor Eduardo Campos (PSB), who met with Dilma earlier in the week, was working behind the scenes to prevent both the president and Lula from getting involved in Humberto's campaign, since the socialists remain allies at the national level.
A likely direct involvement of the president in Humberto Costa's campaign would practically place the PSB in a position of real opposition to the PT and its governments, no longer just locally, but with the possibility of a national characterization.
