Bahia 247 - The vice-president of the Petrobras CPI in the Chamber of Deputies, federal deputy Antônio Imbassahy from Bahia, a member of the PSDB party, affirms that the testimony of former SBM Offshore director Jonathan Taylor is important to clarify part of the bribes paid to former Petrobras directors in the scheme involving contracts between construction companies and the Brazilian state-owned company.

Members of the CPI are talking to the executive today (19) in London, England. Taylor is also expected to hand over previously unpublished documents. According to Imbassahy, who is in the British capital, the company has in its records the equivalent of US$139 million in bribes for Petrobras technicians and other public agents.

Jonathan Taylor reported that he delivered a dossier to the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) in August of last year, which would prove that the Dutch company paid bribes to Petrobras employees to secure contracts for the rental of platforms.

"SBM was denounced by the Dutch Public Prosecutor's Office, which received information from the Swiss Public Prosecutor's Office, which then reached the US Department of Justice. SBM has already paid a fine of US$240 million and is now trying to reach a leniency agreement in Brazil," says the politician.

Imbassahy further states that Taylor sent a message to the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) saying that he would like to offer internal audit documents on the matter that took place at SBM. These would even be previously unpublished documents. "We will carry out this investigation, bring these documents, and reveal to the Brazilian population everything that happened," the parliamentarian promises.
