According to the Workers' Party member, the Minister of Aviation lacks the necessary preparation.

The Bahia state deputy Marcelino Galo was "extremely unhappy" with the statement by PMDB member Moreira Franco that Brazilian engineers are to blame for the six-month delay in the construction of 12 airports in capital cities that will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup; "The lack of preparation lies with the minister who has not kept up with the evolution of politics and the new government administration. More responsibility and coherence are needed," the PT member exclaimed.

State Representative Marcelino Galo (PT) vehemently criticized the statements made by the Minister of the Civil Aviation Secretariat, Moreira Franco, at the National Meeting of Editors of the Esplanada Column, in which he claimed that Brazilian engineers are to blame for the six-month delay in the construction of 12 airports in capital cities that will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

"Young people don't graduate well-prepared from university, and the projects are very poor. The engineers are bad," the minister said at the time.

The Workers' Party congressman considered the statement "extremely unfortunate" and said that "the lack of preparation lies with the minister, who has not kept up with the evolution of politics and the new government administration." Marcelino Galo also says that "more responsibility and consistency are needed."

"We have excellent engineers, and the most recent proof of the quality of Brazilian professionals is the discovery of the pre-salt oil reserves." The congressman asserts that works such as viaducts, highways, residential and commercial buildings, ports, and power plants, designed by Brazilian engineers, contradict Moreira Franco's statement.
