Pernambuco 247 - The PT leader in the Senate, Humberto Costa (PE), traveled to São Paulo, on the morning of this Thursday (2), to offer support and solidarity to former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his family, due to the death of former first lady Marisa Letícia. For Humberto, the political and media witch hunt to which she and Lula were subjected contributed to the death.

Senator and former minister Armando Monteiro Neto (PTB) lamented the death of the former first lady and said he "expresses his hope that our esteemed President Lula and his children can, in this painful moment, count on an immense wave of solidarity, not only from friends, among whom I include myself, but from all the Brazilian people."

Hospitalized since the 24th at the Sírio Libanês Hospital due to a stroke, Marisa will have her organs donated, according to information released by Lula on social media this morning. In addition to authorizing the organ donation, the family also thanked everyone for the expressions of affection received in the last 10 days.

"Hand in hand with hers, Lula became who he is. As First Lady of Brazil, Mrs. Marisa played a fundamental role in building a more just and more compassionate country, which she built together with President Lula," Humberto observed.

"There was an unprecedented media persecution, which caused him profound sadness and precipitated health problems as a result of an extremely shaken emotional state due to this siege imposed on his life, the life of the former president, and that of all his family members," he added.
