Paim asks for applause for the 80th anniversary of Jornal do Comércio.

"Jornal do Comércio has a competent team of professionals that makes it one of the most important newspapers in the Southern region, being present in the daily lives of the people of Rio Grande do Sul," said the senator from the PT party in Rio Grande do Sul this Thursday.

The Senate Agency - In a speech this Thursday (23), Senator Paulo Paim (PT-RS) congratulated and asked for a vote of applause in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Jornal do Comércio in Porto Alegre. Until 1956, the newspaper was especially for merchants and was called Consultor do Comércio. According to the senator, it was the first segmented newspaper in Brazil. Today, the economy continues to be the main focus of the publication.

– Jornal do Comércio has a competent team of professionals that makes it one of the most important newspapers in the Southern region, being present in the daily lives of the people of Rio Grande do Sul – said Paim in a statement on the Senate floor.

According to Paim, in its 80 years of existence, the newspaper has developed credible and respected sections and events in the market, paying attention to new technologies, professional qualification and quality control with the aim of offering "an ever-improving product".

– We respectfully request that the Senate of the Republic approve a vote of applause for this important, traditional, and respected media outlet in Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil – requested Paim on behalf of the Rio Grande do Sul delegation.

Anamatra

The senator also commented on the inauguration ceremony of the new leaders of the National Association of Labor Court Magistrates (Anamatra), which the senator attended yesterday (22) with Senator Ana Amélia (PP-RS).

Paim recounted that the association's new president, Paulo Luiz Schmidt, emphasized the importance of the partnership between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches in labor issues and in preserving the rights acquired by workers, in addition to recalling the importance of the 70th anniversary of the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT).
